About Us

Afrovibez was born out of a profound desire to celebrate African heritage and foster a sense of unity among Africans in the diaspora. It draws its inspiration from significant historical events and a shared cultural identity.

The inception of Afrovibez can be traced back to the recognition of Africa Day, a day when Africans worldwide commemorate the founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) on May 25, 1963. This historical milestone marked the collective effort of 32 African nations to unite and advocate for the interests of the continent. It is essential to note that, at that time, only 30 of these nations had achieved independence from colonial rule.

The words of Kwame Nkrumah, “I am not African because I was born in Africa but because Africa was born in me,” deeply resonate with the spirit and mission of Afrovibez. This quote reflects the profound connection that Africans, both on the continent and in the diaspora, share with their rich and diverse cultural heritage. It is this profound connection, this feeling that Africa is an integral part of their identity, that drives the mission of Afrovibez.
